Fi

Talking about Fi. This is of course a simple way to understand it, and have nothing associated with Fi related behaviors. To understand it, lets see how it works empirically that is posted below on a comment.

As you see, the Ti user didnt change his argument but the Fi user changed, from disliking the guy to respecting him. This is crucial to understand Fi.

Fi is a judgemental function, but the reason dom and aux Fi users are P is because Fi is very flexible and volatile. Fi people will change their attitude towards you everytime information changes. A fi user cannot discriminate that easily if it true or not, unless Fi has built a better big picture of a framework of a person.

So everytime you debate with a Fi, a Fi is not looking whether what you are saying is logically, but whether you are an ass or not, and which is why his arguments are full of falacies. Perhaps, the fact that Fi people's reasons are largely overlooked is because they tend to be very vocal and very passionate about their believes, but unless we dont experiment with Fi children we would never know (and I bet you this statement will make Fi users angry as hell).

Fi tends to think they are T because they tend to rationalize everything they do. As the personalitypage says: If an ISFP's personal value system is threatened by external influences, the ISFP shuts out the threatening data in order to preserve and honor their value system. This is totally natural, and works well to protect the individual psyche from getting hurt. However, the ISFP who exercises this type of self-protection regularly will become more and more unaware of other people's perspectives, and thus more and more isolated from a real understanding of the world that they live in. They will always find justification for their own inappropriate behaviors, and will always find fault with the external world for problems that they have in their lives.
T in the other hand are more about applying logic, but not negating their feelings. Actually the opposite happens: Thinkers are more likely to backup their Feelings (or conclusions about values and relationships) with logic.

The way to deal with Fi users is to provide them with more information. Try to make them think, ask them questions, and always provide information about how you like it or not. Explain it. In this way, a Fi user is more likely to be manipulate it, if there is not information that has been considered by Fi, unless the Fi user is mature and has a vast understanding of the world.

Because Fi judgement are rushy, Fi users are insecure. And since Fi users are more focus on human qualities than in impersonal logic, Fi users are more likely to follow trends or being nosey, because they are concluding is good to do it because of their rushy conclusions.. But if enough information have been used to feed Fi, their judgement will tend to change less and less and they will display a behavior of truely mature Fi users.

The fact why I accused many people here of not being INTP, is because they do not apply ti logic but instead apply Fi logic. While Fi users tend to be able to see the big picture once the Fi process is well feeded, they are still not naturally intuitive.

Many people here believe that because they rationalize their judgement they are T, and because they conclude rushy they are Ti, they think they are INTP. Wrong. Ti users always display their logic without using no falacies, because they respect the truth.

many people here are not yet differentiated in their preference. That is why sometimes ypeople are insecure of their types. My suggestion is to accept what you are and make the most money out of it. Right now, where Fi qualities are in vogue, there is a lot of opportunites to get respect from others by accepting one's preferences.
